Truecaller (Q1 Review): Transformation strategy gathers pace - Redeye

Redeye provides an update following Truecaller’s Q1 2026 results, in which net sales provided a slight positive surprise, while margins remained line with our expectations. While advertising remains soft, our overall view remains intact, and we have made smaller positive estimate revisions to our near-term forecasts. Management has labelled 2026 a "transformative year," prioritising long-term structural changes—such as a proprietary ad stack and a global messaging model—to diversify revenue streams and reduce future advertising volatility. Meanwhile, the newly announced reduction of approximately 70 FTEs is expected to help hold margins up. Though investor patience will be required as these initiatives scale, we believe the company is moving in the right direction to build a more resilient and less volatile business model.
