Biomethane Station Data November 2025

• A total of 5,577 tonnes of Bio-CNG were dispensed from CNG Fuels’ 16 public access refuelling stations, up 9% from 5,118 tonnes in November 2024 (14 stations)
• Average daily dispensed volume reached a record level of 186 tonnes, compared to 171 tonnes per day in the year-earlier period
• A daily average of 2,170 vehicles refuelled across the station network, an increase of 11% year-on-year
• Prices for Renewable Transport Fuel Certificates (RTFCs) averaged 28.1 pence, up 14% compared with 24.8 pence in November 2024

“Demand for biomethane continues to grow as fleet operators swap out diesel HGVs for low-emission and cost-efficient Bio-CNG powered trucks. The more moderate November annualised growth rate reflects a particularly strong comparison base from November last year, when a large number of new trucks were delivered into service. We expect the annualised growth to accelerate again over the coming months, as a large number of new trucks go into operation,” said Philip Fjeld, CEO and co-founder of ReFuels.

In addition to Bio-CNG dispensing, CNG Fuels generates revenue from sales of Renewable Transport Fuel Certificates (RTFCs). The average RTFC price in November was 28.1 pence, up from 24.8 pence in November 2024. RTFCs are awarded at a rate of 3.8 certificates per kilo of Bio-CNG dispensed and sold to fuel suppliers with a blending obligation under the UK's Renewable Transport Fuel Obligation (RTFO) scheme.

CNG Fuels supplies biomethane through a growing network of refuelling stations, currently operating 16 public access Bio-CNG stations strategically located on major UK trucking routes. Two additional stations are under development – one in South Wales and one in Swindon – to further expand network capacity.
