Arla Plast acquires Aikolon OY
Arla Plast AB has today acquired the shares in Aikolon OY in Finland.
Aikolon was founded 1985, has approximately 60 employees with head office and production in Oulu, Finland and a production site in Vantaa, Finland. Aikolon is specialized in processing different plastic materials within several application areas such as processed machine parts to basic industry and component supplier to OEM’s. During the past years the company has gone through major investments in production technology for coating and further processing of plastic sheets. The company has its own design and construction department. Aikolon has a broken fiscal year (April-March). The net sales during the previous fiscal year amounted to EUR 10.8 million, equivalent to approximately SEK 120 million.
If Aikolon had been consolidated into Arla Plast Group during 2024 the profit per share before dilution would have decreased with approximately SEK 1,47, acquisition costs and IFRS effects excluded. The company is currently undergoing a reconstruction after some years of major investments in combination with weak demand and declining profitability. The purchase price amounts to EUR 1.0 million and will most probably cause a badwill. A purchase price allocation will be presented in year-end report 2025. The acquisition will be financed with Arla Plast existing cash.
The acquisition costs are estimated at approximately SEK 2.0 million and will mainly affect the third and fourth quarter of 2025. Aikolon will be consolidated into the Arla Plast Group from the closing date of October 15, 2025.
”Further processing and coating of sheets is today a considerably growing business for Arla Plast. We have had limitations in our current supplier chains which have hindered our growth in this area. With the acquisition of Aikolon we secure the supplier chain downwards and enable further growth for our high optical products”, says Christian Krichau, CEO of Arla Plast.
”This is an important and natural step for Aikolon. We know Arla Plast well since they have been a cooperation partner to us for many years and we see this transaction as a possibility for further development and expansion of the company”, says Martti Hahtonen, CEO of Aikolon.
