Lamor Corporation Plc | Press Release | September 15, 2025 at 13:00:00 EEST
Lamor, a global leader in environmental solutions with over 40 years of experience in oil spill response, waste management and water treatment, today inaugurated its new regional Service Center in Saudi Arabia. The center will better serve the region’s environmental needs, enhance the availability of locally produced equipment, and further strengthen Lamor’s presence in this key market.
“For Lamor, this is an important milestone in the expansion of our services in the Middle East as part of Lamor’s ‘Land and Expand’ strategy. Saudi Arabia is a major market in its own right. It is located in the strategically important Gulf region, which is the world’s largest hub for oil production. By investing in Saudi Arabia, Lamor also supports the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 goals in environmental protection and sustainable development. There is strong demand in the region for Lamor's products and services that protect the environment and water resources while enhancing local expertise and capacity”, says Aziz Al-Othman Lamor’s Senior Vice President for Middle East and Africa. “The Service Center further strengthens our ability to operate in the region’s broad market for environmental protection, remediation and waste management.”
The facility includes a delivery center as well as a showroom to showcase Lamor's innovative products and services. Initially, fifteen environmental protection experts will be employed at the center, with the aim of training new local talent in Saudi Arabia.
"We are excited to expand our operations in Saudi Arabia", says Johan Grön, Lamor CEO. "The Lamor Saudi Service Center will enable us to provide more efficient and effective support to our clients in the region, ensuring that we continue to meet their evolving environmental needs. The center will also enable local manufacturing and servicing of oil spill response equipment and environmental protection technologies in partnership with local stakeholders. The locally Saudi Made products will be in the Saudi market towards the end of this year."
In addition, the center will provide training and consulting for IMO-accredited programs recognised globally. To date, Lamor has trained more than 4,000 oil spill response professionals in Saudi Arabia, supporting the country’s capacity building and preparedness. Such training and technological capabilities are essential for a nation with nearly 1,800 kilometers of coastline along the Red Sea – one of the world’s busiest shipping routes with heavy oil tanker traffic. In recent years, Lamor has also played a key role in establishing several oil spill response centers along the Red Sea in cooperation with local environmental authorities.
The grand opening ceremony was held today at the the Lamor Service Center in Dammam, followed by a seminar at the Kempinski Al Othman Hotel, Al Khobar.
