PolarCool signs first agreement in Slovakia with ice hockey club HC Košice
Med-tech company PolarCool AB (publ.) continues to expand its presence in European ice hockey and has now signed its first agreement in Slovakia. The Slovak club HC Košice becomes the first team in the top-tier, Tipsport league, to include PolarCap® in its concussion management routines.
Slovakia has one of Central Europe’s leading ice hockey leagues. With this establishment, PolarCool strengthens its presence within European ice hockey. The company is already active in several of Europe’s top leagues, including Sweden, Finland, Germany, Austria, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, and the Czech Republic.
HC Košice’s team doctor Michal Fečík comments:
-We look forward to offering our players acute treatment with PolarCap® in the event of a concussion. As the medical doctor of HC Košice, I see it as my obligation to provide my players with the best possible care. Including PolarCap®, a clinically evaluated treatment, was therefore an obvious choice.
PolarCool’s CEO Erik Andersson comments:
-I am very pleased with HC Košice’s commitment to player safety and that we have secured our first agreement for PolarCap® in Slovakia — a country with a strong ice hockey tradition. HC Košice is one of the country’s leading clubs and will serve as an important ambassador for our technology in Slovakia. We look forward to the collaboration and expect more Slovak clubs to follow soon.
The two-year agreement with HC Košice represents a strategic breakthrough in the Slovak market. Although individual agreements may have limited financial impact, this marks an important step in PolarCool’s long-term growth strategy and its ambition to strengthen its position in the European market.
