Vardaga and Nytida acquire parts of AvAsta - strengthening their presence in elderly and social care in the Gothenburg region

Vardaga and Nytida, part of the Ambea Group, have acquired parts of the care provider and family-owned company AvAsta. The acquisition includes the Sisjödal nursing home as well as four units providing care for adults with lifelong disabilities and psychosocial problems.

AvAsta was founded in 2014 and has its roots in a care operation established in 1956 by Asta Kärrbrand. The acquired operations include a total of 154 beds- 90 at the Sisjödal nursing home and 64 across four residential facilities - and approximately 130 employees. All units are located in the Gothenburg region.

The four units providing support to adults with disabilities and psychosocial needs are operated as supported housing services under the Swedish legislation LSS (Act concerning Support and Service for Persons with Certain Functional Impairments) and SoL (Social Services Act), and are part of AvAsta’s BmSS (Bostad med särskild service) business area.

Sisjödal is a nursing home providing residential care for people with somatic (physical) complaints and dementia. The acquisition does not include AvAsta’s other nursing home, Ruddalen.

Revenue for 2024 was 144 MSEK. The acquisition was closed on May 5, 2025.
